For Your Information

For your information.......Since we have no daily newspaper and some of you may not have a computer I thought I would update you on the latest goings-on in Congress.

First there was the "Gun Control Bill."  Thank God it was voted down. (FOR NOW.) It was basically to enforce more aggressive registration. That may sound good but how many of you believe that a criminal will go to a store, buy a  gun and have to undergo a huge registration and background check? Profiling would be good except do you think a criminal would answer....Yes, I am buying a gun so I can go rob a store? That will never happen. Rather than add another law to the books, how about just ENFORCING the ones already there?

The trouble with any gun control law is that once it is implemented the government can add anything they want to it. Does anyone hear the word....confiscation? I don't know about the rest of you but I hold the CONSTITUTION and my BILL OF RIGHTS dearly.

This is about our 2nd Amendment, to have and bear arms and they will NOT be infringed. Our founders put this in place to protect us against a corrupt government. Without it we are just SERFS (look it up).

Do you know the difference between a free man and a slave?...A GUN.

The second was.....Governor Kasich deciding to expand Medicaid. What a stunner that was. When he ran for office he was a real conservative and in the first two years he did everything he said he was going to do.

He shrunk the government more than 7%, Reduced regulation, closed an $8B budget gap and restored a  $247M Rainy Day Fund and (remember this) SLOWED MEDICAID GROWTH. And he said he was not going to put in a "Healthcare Exchange." Yeah!

Then something happened, was it a twisted arm? A special deal? What turned him 360 degrees to the other side?

Here’s the deal....right now 1 in 5 people in the State of Ohio are on government assistance. Adding close to 400,000 more is not a good idea. Talk about a "nanny state," there won't be enough workers to pay for this. And that brings me to this point. Kasich says the federal government will reimburse him for the first two years $2.4M.  (N-H 2-10-13)

But how will a "broke" government come up with the dough? Probably won't. They will borrow it and add more to our children’s debt. And even if they do, then what?  Who pays for it after that?  He calls this bringing back some of our tax money, but I call it blood money. Money taxed off the backs of hard-working citizens. Also another Kasich quote (PD 2-17-13) "My whole attitude has been to come in here, do this for Ohio and get the heck out." So I am assuming that he is going to saddle us with this huge debt and leave us to pay the BILL. My grandchildren will be working as slaves for the rest of their lives: "Two ways to conquer and enslave a nation.  One is by the sword, the other is by debt." John Adams - 1826.

Now we come to immigration. First of all there should be a "separate" bill just to close our borders. If this country cannot seal our borders as strongly as Iran and North Korea, to name a few, then we don't need any more legislation on this topic. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYMORE ABOUT IMMIGRATION OR AMNESTY.

Right now there are an estimated llM illegal immigrants. (N-H 4-26-13).  Without secure borders we will probably have another llM before we know it. It also allows previously deported illegal immigrants to apply for amnesty, a spouse, parent or child, and how many more will there be?

Many I am sure will get Medicaid (remember story above) and some Medicare, welfare and subsidies for housing, food, and you name it. How will we be able to keep paying for this? By more and more TAXES. No one wants someone to go hungry or be homeless but many even in this city are doing all they can to keep themselves above water. I am sure many of these Medicaid people have lost jobs and possibly homes and are in need. What we really need is some COMMON SENSE PEOPLE IN OUR GOVERNMENT TO RESTORE OUR ECONOMY AND JOBS. Get most of these people back on track and there will be less to deal with.

"To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt....I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple."

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain SILENT."

Thomas Jefferson says it better than I ever could.
