Basic Motivational Interviewing (3.0 Hours)

This workshop teaches the concepts of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and the Transtheoretical Model of Change, their relationship to each other, and their usefulness in Clinical practice. This training is for practicing counselors and other professionals in substance abuse treatment settings and mental health counselors. This experiential workshop gives participants an opportunity to work with Stages of Change and apply motivational strategies. The hands-on approach helps participants put the material into use with clients.  

Advanced Motivational Interviewing (3.0 Hours)

August 1, 2014 (Friday) 

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Cost: $45.00 

This workshop will focus on the advanced fundamentals of Motivational Interviewing including: Screening tools for measuring the clients' level of motivation, interventions to assist with helping clients to move through the stages of change, how to illicit change talk with a client, and how to help clients sustain change talk.
