Euclid Art Association Offers Two Fall Workshops

Now is the time to sign up. On Saturday, October 7, 2017, Euclid Art presents “A Tag Team Floral Watercolor Workshop” with Cathy Welner and Bob Moyer, two of Ohio’s premiere award winning artists.  Join in, pair up while Cathy and Bob mix and match their different watercolor techniques to produce an amazing floral watercolor, as you will too!  While pairing is optional.....it’s more fun and challenging as a team.  Everyone will end with a painting.  Cathy and Bob will instruct throughout the class in their unique techniques to make this a fun time experience.  Cost is $45 for members, $55 for nonmembers.  Cathy and Bob have impressive art bios and currently teach watercolor classes at Cliffside Artist Collaborative in Hinckley, OH.

Our second fall workshop is on Saturday, October 28, 2017, “Development of the Portrait in Black & White” by award winning artist, Dottie Geisert.  She has been an active member of Euclid Art since 2015.  This workshop consists of a lecture, demonstration and presentation of Dottie's approach to the portrait in black and white.  She received a BFA in Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Arts with a major in portrait painting.  Having taught classes in the portrait from the very basic to the more advanced, Dottie will present a clear and readily understandable approach for the students.  Using charcoal as a medium, the portrait will be developed through basic theories and principles of shapes, forms, and values.  After a complete understanding of the approach and applications of these theories, the student will be given the opportunity to apply the learned material to the drawing of a portrait from a live model.  Cost is $40 for members, $50 for nonmembers.  Dottie currently teaches multi-media art classes at the Wildwood Cultural Center in Mentor, OH.

Workshops are held at the Euclid Art Gallery, located on the 2nd floor of the Euclid History Museum, 21129 North Street in Euclid.  To register call or email Susan Herrle at 216-481-5105 or suetom.herrle@sbcglobal.net, include EAA in subject line.  More details can be found on our website EuclidArt.com on the Workshops page.
