Deck the Halls

GOOD NEWS from your local Lake Shore Garden Club.  This year we are presenting, free to the public, ‘Deck the Halls’, a National Garden Club Holiday Standard Flower Show.

What is a ‘Flower Show’, you ask?  It’s not a plant sale, nor is it a holiday craft sale.  What it is, is an inspiring event where one can view imaginative and creative decorating ideas for holiday entertaining, plus much more.

The club members are busy preparing to share their compassion and creativity for floral design with the community; while also competing among themselves for award ribbons and ‘Best of Show’.  Home grown containers of flowering and non-flowering plants, cacti, succulents, outdoor foliage will also show there to inspire indoor gardeners.  Plus, educational exhibits will be displayed to help create interest in environmental concerns of gardening.

All this can be enjoyed while you tour the halls of the beautifully restored Albert W. Henn Mansion in Sims Park.  If you haven’t visited the Henn yet, this is the perfect opportunity.  The dates for this special event are Friday, November 2, 1:00 – 5:00 pm and Saturday, November 3, 12:00 – 4:00 pm.

Please see the ad in this paper and on the many flyers around town.
