Scholarships and prizes for talented artists!
Are you a K-12 grade student or a group (ages 5 to 18) interested in showing your performing or visual arts talent? Would you like to win cool prizes, cash and even a scholarship? If so, then the iN Education’s Battle of the Teal 4EDU is the competition for you!
We are now holding open casting calls; come and meet our Production Team: DeAndre & Sona Nixon of iN Education, Inc. and Bobby Ford of Keep Calm and HIP HOP at our first “in-person” casting call held at the Shore Cultural Center, 291 E. 222nd St., RM 227 in Euclid, Ohio on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Virtual registrations are also accepted; instructions are provided on the official event website www.battleoftheteal.org .
Previous Battle of the Teal – 4EDU competitions raised over $20,000.00 in scholarships, cash and cool prizes. Courtney Owens, our 2016 & 2017 competition winner, delivered strong poetry performances that won hearts of the judges and crowd. Courtney used her winnings and scholarship and is now a student at Ohio Wesleyan University. Twelve year old Terrence Davis, our 2018 competition winner, wowed the crowd with his singing performance. He, along with other top finalists, has earned over $10,000.00 in prizes and scholarships redeemable after they graduate High School!
The 4th Annual Battle of the Teal – 4EDU competition is real, is live, it is THE opportunity for serious artists throughout Ohio looking to show the world what they are made of.

DeAndre Nixon
DeAndre’ L. Nixon became an entrepreneur in 1998 when he started iN Entertainment, Inc., his for-profit special events production company in Seattle, WA. After dissolving it in 2005 he returned to Akron, OH and incorporated iN Education, Inc. on May 5, 2006 and received its 501 c (3) status in September 2007. Since its inception, iN Education, Inc. has provided educational programs and services primarily to low-to-moderate income pre-K through 12th-grade students in Northeast Ohio and beyond which strengthen their learning outcomes, prepare them for college and technical career fields, and instill a love for lifelong learning. As founder and president, DeAndre’ brings decades of experience as entrepreneur in entertainment and educational services that has shaped the unique approach of iN Education. He is joined by a long-serving staff of three, a team of about one hundred volunteers and ten industry professionals who have contributed to the success of iN Education’s programs.
