We are Back Stronger and Better than ever...

Venite a Mangiare! Come and eat!

So happy we can finally say those words out loud.
After being closed for year due to an electrical fire our doors are finally open to the Euclid community and its vicinities.

On May 6th of 2017 as we stood there watching the restaurant being engulfed by ominous smoke our  hearts, as well as our spirits, were broken. A lifetime worth of hard work had gone up in smoke.

As I recall May 6th started out as a normal day. Little did I know how quickly our world was going to change. I could hardly understand Fran when she called me asking me to run up to the restaurant because it was on fire. On fire? This could not be, I thought. As I’m getting in the car to drive up to the restaurant I’m thinking Fran is overreacting but I’ll drive up just to make sure all is okay.

For as long as I shall live I will never forget the moment I turned on to Babbit road from Shore Center Dr. It was a sea of blue and red lights. Babbitt was blocked off. Still, I’m thinking perhaps it’s not as bad as all this. As I drove around all the stopped traffic, while ignoring the police trying to stop me from doing so, all I could think about was the restaurant.  I pulled into the parking lot to a scene which will be for ever embedded in my mind, heart and soul. The fireman holding an axe getting ready to break down the door. Beeping my horn as loud as it would beep, I caught the fireman’s attention as I’m pulling right up to the front door.
I was screaming don’t break the door I have the key. Not really thinking at this point, instinctively, I went to put my key in the door to let the fireman in. The fireman gently and firmly turned me towards him and said “ I’ll take the key and please go back to your car.” I insisted I would let him in. Then a very kind officer directed me back to my car and said “No worries, everything will be okay. They know what they’re doing “.

One by one my family pulled up to the parking lot and the reality of it welled up in my heart. As the parking lot filled up with family members, friends and customers, it was on that dreary rainy cold day, that I quickly came to the realization how much my family and food is loved by the community. Moving our restaurant to a different location was never an option for us.

It was this outpouring of love that got  us through what has proven to be one of the most challenging times of our lives. The rebuild!

To this day recounting our story takes us back to that very dark place. Thankfully, we quickly realize that it is now behind us.

Heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes out to the following people. If not for your help, hard work, guidance and kind words we would not be here.
