Message from the Mayor

Spring is here!  Spring clean-ups have started, I hope you had a chance to join us for the 3rd Annual “Big Clean” that took place April 6th.   If you did, thank you!  If you were not able, there is always more to do!  I challenge each of you to do your part to help clean up/ beautify our City – whether it is your yard, your business or our public spaces.  Keep Euclid Beautiful continues to grow and add new ways for residents to get involved in beautifying our city.  Many hands make light work, so please do you part and we will all benefit!  If you want to learn more, click on the Keep Euclid Beautiful tab on the city website or call Linda at 216-289-2786.

Euclid was recently named a 2018 Tree City USA award recipient.  This honor is due to the City’s ongoing commitment to planting and caring for trees.  Thank you to the hard work of our Euclid Shade Tree Commission and Parks Department staff!  The Euclid Shade Tree Commission will sponsor our annual celebration of Arbor Day on Friday April 26th with the planting of trees to honor Dave Lawrence and Roy Larick.  I hope you will join us at the Euclid Lakefront Community Center on 4/26 at 6:00 pm to honor Dave Lawrence’s legacy of service and Roy Larick’s advocacy and stewardship of our natural resources.  Look for more trees being planted across the city this spring!

I would like to congratulate the 2018 Euclid Chamber of Commerce Annual Award recipients:  Mama Catena Vino e’ Cucina, BWX Technologies, Cuyahoga Community College-Eastern Campus, Rick Case Honda, Charlie Sims of Sims Buick, Rich Lea of Euclid Hospital, and Pam Turos of Good Cause Creative.  I truly appreciate their continued commitment to their businesses and to our community!

Want to learn more about how City Hall operates?  We will be holding our second City Hall Academy beginning in May.  Participants of the City Hall Academy learn about each city department, the mission for program/ service delivery, and what role residents can play.  The first program received positive feedback and I invite anyone interested in learning more to watch our website or call 289-2751 for more information and an application.

Happy Spring, hope to see you around town!
