Yard of the Year 2019

Keep Euclid Beautiful announces the Yard of the Year program for 2019.

Have a well-kept house and beautiful yard?  Know someone that does?  Keep Euclid Beautiful wants to know about it!

This is the perfect opportunity to nominate someone for their efforts in creating and maintaining their landscape.

We want to hear from you!!!!

Nominations are being accepted starting June 1st through August 1st.  All yards in the City of Euclid are eligible for nomination.

Anyone can nominate a property.  Friends, neighbors or homeowners themselves can simply write the address and owner's name (if known) on a sheet of paper and mail it to Keep Euclid Beautiful at 585 E. 222 St Euclid, OH 44123, drop the nomination off at City Hall from 8:30am - 5pm Monday thru Friday, or email Keep Euclid Beautiful at keepeuclidbeautiful@cityofeuclid.com  It's that easy!

(Properties need only be nominated once to be entered in the contest.  Yards are judged on apperance and not on number of nominations, yard and/or house size.)

Yard of the Year candidates are judged on the exterior appearance of their property as viewed from the street (curb appeal).  Property will be judged on neatness and landscaping.  Overall appearance and factors include, but are not limited to; tidiness and neatness of the front and side yards, pruned and trimmed trees & shrubs, healthy, weed free and defined lawns, borders and flowerbeds, clean walkways and driveways, trash receptacles covered and/or hidden, and a visually appealing appearance using color & textures that might include, garden art, rain barrels, hanging baskets or pots.

All nominated yards will be notified by mail the first week of August.  1 winner will be chosen from each ward. The Keep Euclid Beautiful Committee will evaluate and score each nomination for the contest.  The winners will be announced at the Tuesday, September 3rd council meeting at 7pm at Euclid City Hall.  Each winner will be presented an award at the September 3rd council meeting.  Winners will also be announced in the September edition of the Euclid Observer.
