VASJ Wrestling - Hunter Memorial a huge success for Vikings
VASJ coach Bob Mullin called it the most successful fundraiser the wrestling program has ever had.
The Feb. 15 Jeff Hunter Memorial Spaghetti Dinner was a huge success on and off the mat and featured senior Nate Oriani and his parents being recognized.
On the mat, VASJ defeated Trinity, 60-6, and lost to Strongsville, 44-24.
Oriani went 2-0 with 2 pins at 145. Charlie Stachnik went 2-0 with 2 pins at 152. Josh Longstreet (195) and Eddie Marxen (182) both went 2-0 with a pin.
Fillipo Pavlica and Joe Webb each went 1-1 with a pin. Titus Bates was 1-0.
Mack Flynn, Charlie Mullin and Darian Davis each went 1-1.
Coach Mullin said the event drew a record crowd, and he praised the parents and wrestlers for help making the fundraiser the most successful in program history.
