A Heartfelt Gesture: Stations of the Cross Video at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine

Our Lady of the Lake School has an engaged administrative team: Principal, Jenny Millett, and Assistant Principal, Lauren Zbiegien. These two are known for putting their heads together to think outside of the box and at this unusual time - they did just that.

The two thoughtful administrators, decided to make a video tour of the Stations of the Cross by walking the stations at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Euclid with a camera to video tape the stations for those students and adults who cannot get there themselves.  When the order came to stay at home, the video took on a new significance.

"I guess the idea came from the fact that we are a Catholic school and during Lent, we focus on the Stations of the Cross.  We knew there had to be a way to still share this experience with our students, so we decided to visit Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine and take some videos", Lauren Zbiegien explained.   Ms. Zbiegien continued,  "Mrs Millett and I really wanted our school community to stay connected and have faith filled opportunities."

Adding Catholic Online reflections to each station and music from Melissa Gali-Bird and the OLL Music Ministries, the video takes the viewer each weekday on a virtual tour of the next station of the cross reflection (14 stations plus 2 extra videos) up to Good Friday, ending with the image of the Resurrection Statue, as we look collectively toward the celebration of Easter.  OLL's talented video editor, Nicole Hufford ties all the elements together, resulting in a Station of the Cross video released each weekday at 3pm.  Nicole is also the video editor working behind the scenes of Fr. Joe's weekly videos.
