Vacation Bible School Goes to Athens for Holy Land Adventure
Thirty VBS children journeyed to Athens for a Holy Land adventure at the OLL Vacation Bible School June 10-14.
Traveling back in time to ancient Greece, the children visited with St. Paul every day to hear of his dangerous journey to share the Truth. The setting was an open air market, complete with makeshift tents. All crafts and snacks had to be purchased with Dracmas.
Besides participating in arena games and eating Athenian foods, the children decorated a Trojan Horse Treasure Box, created pottery, and wrote on and sealed scrolls, with wax and a stamper. Twenty-five adult and teen volunteers under the direction of Mrs. Dorothy Kane fashioned the creative oasis of learning in the parish hall.
